Course Structure Overview

Each module can be completed independently or delivered to a department, faculty, or whole school. Whether you are a Head of Department leading your team, a middle leader delivering to staff across the school, or an ECT just beginning your journey, this course is designed to work for you.

All PowerPoints are fully downloadable and editable, so you can adapt them to meet the needs of your department or setting. Each one has been created using evidence-based research, with references clearly included.

To support delivery, further reading is provided at the end of the course. This is ideal if you’d like to strengthen your subject knowledge before leading a session, ensuring you feel confident and prepared for any questions. Each PowerPoint also lists the key research articles that can be shared with colleagues after the session.

Rachel Addy (BSc Hons Textiles Design for Fashion & Interiors, specialising in knit)

Rachel has been Events Planner and Host for the Textile Skills Centre since 2021.

With nine years’ international experience as a Product Developer in the fashion industry, including work with GIII in China and major retailers such as Marks & Spencer and Moss Bros, Rachel brings a wealth of industry knowledge.

She is now Head of Design & Technology, having taught Graphics, Textiles, Fashion Textiles and Product Design, and continues to build professional networks through global events and not-for-profit initiatives that support collaboration and skill sharing.
