☕💬 TEA & CHAT: Building Independent Learners, Reducing Teacher Workload

How can we get students to do more of the thinking, practising and problem-solving themselves, so they’re better prepared for KS4 assessments, exams and beyond? Starting with KS3.

How will promoting independent practice in turn reduce teacher workload?

Join us for an online Tea & Chat as we explore how promoting independent practice in lessons can help us to:

  • Build students’ confidence and independence.

  • Improve retention, application and outcomes at KS4.

  • Develop learners who can think critically, tackle unfamiliar questions and apply their knowledge independently.

  • Reduce over-scaffolding, unnecessary intervention and the pressure to constantly create new resources.

  • Significantly reduce teacher workload by building independence into everyday teaching, rather than adding another initiative to the to-do list.

This isn’t about working harder. It’s about making small, strategic changes to how we teach, so students take greater ownership of their learning and teachers can work smarter.

☕ Bring a cuppa, share your experiences and ideas, and leave with practical strategies you can use straight away.

📍 Online | 🗓️ Wed 9 December | ⏰ 19.00

All teachers welcome! Let’s share what works, challenge our thinking and make independent learners the norm, not the exception.
